Effective Communication!!!

We begin communicating when we wish 'Good morning' each day. Cell phones have blessed  us with lightning calls in the  midst of vehicles, streets and in lonely highways.
       Communication is not so simple though, is it? We have to deal with wrong numbers!  Most people  assume that they know  how to speak well; we must learn  to communicate. Very often, we end up arguing. Sometimes we are offended.

                                     cut other people off, 

                                    or finish their sentences

                                          for them?
        Karma(name changed) bought a cell phone that had previously belonged to a pizza shop owner. People were constantly calling up with orders for pizzas. When Karma(name changed) was talking  to a customer, who wanted cheese pizzas, they were definitely  not communicating! Why not?  Communication is more  than talking; it is listening. Its understanding and  responding.
        Clear communication occurs when two people know not only what to say, but how and when to say it. Authentic communication is a skill that takes time, effort and determination to learn. It also takes humility. 
        Dad told my 5 years old sister that god gave us  two ears and one mouth because he wants us to listen twice  as much as we talk. She now loves  to ask  strangers, ' Do you know why you have 2 ears?'
         Do you listen carefully? Alternatively, do you just wait for a next  chance to speak? How often do you  cut  other people off, or finish their sentences for them?
